Day School

Greymont Academy’s Day School program invites canine students to spend the day on the Greymont campus with our trained faculty. The program is designed to teach dogs how to communicate with other dogs and with people in a fun and engaging environment. We also focus on developing:

  • Dog language skills
  • Dog and human socialization
  • Problem solving skills
  • Confidence

Prior to enrollment, our trained staff provides a full evaluation of each dog to assess key personality traits, from temperament to play style. Following the full evaluation, owners receive feedback explaining dog personality traits, temperaments, and play styles. This information often proves useful at home and is also used by our trainers to create a customized regimen for each dog.

Registration details/requirements:

  • Fill out a Behavior Questionnaire and sign the release form
  • Provide a credit card
  • Provide proof of current vaccinations
  • All dogs must be on a monthly flea and tick program

Board and Train

As with all our training programs, our Board and Train programs focus on leadership. These programs, however, set us apart from most training programs in the area, with a uniquely intensive and nurturing approach.

The Right Paw

Puppies between 4-6 months of age have so much to absorb when they meet their new world, and Greymont Academy’s puppy program helps them to start life on the right paw. The sounds, smells, places, and people puppies encounter are all new and often feel overwhelming . The Right Paw course helps puppies to cope with their new world by establishing and reinforcing expectations. Our gifted trainers help puppies to develop problem-solving skills through a daily routine of "common" scenarios, along with exercise, field trips, training, leash walking, rest periods, and social activities. At the end of two five-day sessions, our trainers provide owners with a written evaluation and personalized suggestions to help continue with  healthy growth.

Boarding School

Boarding School is an intensive 18-day leadership program. Dogs learn through a series of proven-effective activities designed to create and sustain desirable behaviors.

Most students come to Boarding School because they have developed bad habits like jumping on visitors and pulling on a leash. At Boarding School, we use positive reinforcement to generate respect for leaders. And, while all dogs and situations are different, we gain consistent results when we establish consistent leadership.

Enrollment in Boarding School begins with an application process, a family at-home interview, and a canine evaluation. Our unique process then officially begins with a private family lesson at Greymont, followed by the 18-day residential program and the completion of the “The Responsible Owner’s Pledge,” which acknowledges that dog training is a family commitment that lasts for life, not just 18 days.
